Easy Ownership Program (EOP)
Many potential alpaca owners would like to enjoy the benefits and pleasures of owning alpacas but do not have the land or facilities to house the animals, and the cost to acquire these may put the dream of alpaca ownership out of their reach. In addition, alpacas are herd animals and must be housed in groups, which increases the investment required for new owners as more than one animal must be purchased.
Maple View Farm Alpacas provides a program designed to make alpaca ownership more attainable by lowering the cost of entry. This program permits ownership of a single alpaca while enjoying the associated financial and emotional benefits.
The program provides:
- Multiple year financing with 25% down payment, interest free for the first year and prime plus 1% for up to 48 months
- Consignment sales at 10% commission
- Breeding coordination
- Show management, including training, transportation, and showing at shows attended by Maple View Farm Alpacas
- Agistment/boarding free for first 120 days, with 10% discount thereafter. Cria are discounted 75% until 8 months old
- Unlimited support, including on-farm experience
Conditions of the EOP:
- Registration papers remain in the name of Maple View Farm Alpacas until loan is satisfied
- Alpaca must be boarded at Maple View Farm Alpacas for the duration of loan
- EOP Participant must carry full mortality insurance on the alpaca for the outstanding loan balance, naming Maple View Farm Alpacas as loss payee
- 50% of all cria sales applied to loan balance, leaving 50% as profit for EOP Participant
